Day 4: Sunday, August 13th
This weather has simply been amazing so far. Woke up to another amazing day of blue skies and temperatures in the high 60s to low 70s.
After breakfast today, the kids boarded a coach bus and were off to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Here we all boarded and toured the HMS Victory.
The HMS Victory is a 104 gun first-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy and is the World's oldest naval ship still in commission. Everyone got to board and tour the four floors of cannons, bunks, kitchen, bathrooms, etc. while learning about ship life and English naval history
After touring the Victory, we all sat out in the outdoor picnic area and enjoyed our packed lunches under the sun before walking over towards the waterfront area. Here we all enjoyed the blue skies and Sun while exploring the boardwalk along the water and shops at the Gunwharf Quays Shopping Center.
Everyone piled into the shops and checked out the ships. Nike and Adidas were both popular spots for sneakers and jerseys.
Back at Ardingly College, we ate dinner and headed out to the fields and tennis courts to work off any energy stored up from the bus rides. We started off with kickball while waiting for the tennis courts to free up. While it became a little chaotic, a lot of energy was expelled running around!
Quickly we moved over to the the tennis courts and set up a six team tournament.
Tomorrow, with the weekend behind us, our Brighton & Hove Albion coaches are back in the morning for a light training session to get us back in a soccer mindset before our first matches against English competition in the afternoon. Both the the girls and boys teams will be playing Brighton & Hove Albion teams. They are all both nervous but excited to get out there and play.
